The Present Mother–How to Deepen Your Connection With the Present Moment, Yourself, and Your Child
By Catherine Weiss
“We are on the brink of a new consciousness in parenting–a shift from imagining our children are in need of being “fixed” by us, or at the very least “molded,” to realizing that the behavior issues we are increasingly seeing in young people ought to be a wake-up call to us as parents to face up to our own failure to “grow up” in terms of how we parent.”
This first sentence captured my attention and held it until I had read the entire book–this is so much more than a book on consciousness and self-inquiry in relation to parenting–it contains morning meditations, practice notes, and worksheets so the reader can really engage with it.
Working through parts of the book I felt blessed to have a wise, present mother walk alongside me, inspiring me to better myself, clean up my own “inner house” instead of resorting to old and impulsive methods of discipline that don’t work.
Are you ready to begin this journey? You won’t regret it!
